The Constitution of the United States of America states that all citizens of the country will have freedom of religion, freedom of speech and freedom of expression. The federal government made Christmas a federal holiday. The celebration of Christmas embodies a wish for joy, hope, charity and giving.

Isn’t it interesting that the "best little small town in America" has no Christmas decorations except those of the merchants. They also understand that Christmas helps the economy.

Does the lack of lights and decorations downtown embrace relativity without absolute values, morals or beliefs? What a secular country we have become.

A blessed Christmas and New Year to all. MAUREEN JOHNSON
