The 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade brought greater awareness to the ongoing massacre of the unborn. One reason abortion is still legal is because its proponents have cleverly and deceptively made it all about "choice."
"It’s her body, it’s her choice," thundered Gov. Andrew Cuomo at the State of the State address, as New York is on the verge of expanding abortion in a very radical way. The proposed bill would allow abortion through the entire pregnancy, eliminate parental and informed consent laws, lift waiting periods, allow non-physicians to perform abortions, and outlaw basically anything else that restricts abortion. Whatever happened to the Democratic slogan to make abortion "safe, legal and rare"?
Memo to Gov. Cuomo and the rest of the pro-aborts: The unborn child is a distinct, unique and separate body. It is not the mother’s body! The child has its own unique DNA, which does not match the mother’s, therefore, we have a unique and separate human being. The mother’s body is fully developed, while the unborn baby is developing. So if the mother’s development has matured and the baby’s has not, does not reason dictate we have two separate human beings? So, not only has Gov. Cuomo failed biology 101 he has failed thus far as a Catholic politician.
The Lord said to Jeremiah the Prophet, "Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you." The word of the Lord also says, "Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit with you, which you have from God? You are not your own.
Finally, I would like to address Cuomo’s response to the Sandy Hook massacre. Cuomo, and many of his fellow Democrats, seem to be pointing to guns for the cause of the violence instead of looking in the mirror. The pro-aborts, like Cuomo, have helped create and sustain the culture of death we have. As Mother Teresa said, "And if we can accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill each other?"
