It’s a sure thing that most of us won’t agree with each other at some time, particularly when it comes to politics. I’m OK with that. Discussion, deliberation and even compromise can be healthy. More important, we need elected officials who understand that finding a common ground and making decisions that are best for the town is more important than personal opinions, vendettas and non-productive finger pointing.
Perhaps we’ve lost much of that ability in Washington D.C., and we simply can’t afford to lose that here in Great Barrington. This year’s election in Great Barrington is a clear choice for me. I’ll be voting for Michael Wise and Steve Brannon for the Select Board and Leigh Davis and Tom Blauvelt for Finance Committee.
