To the editor of THE EAGLE:
As a frequent visitor to and supporter of the Pittsfield Library, I am saddened to see the entrance on the lower level in such poor condition. Would it be possible for a local paving company with a little extra blacktop in its trucks to fill in the drive-through in front of the door? When it rains, there is a small lake to walk through to enter the building or drop off books.
Also, the mats inside the upper and lower levels are beyond disgusting, covered in dry mud and gravel. So as a good will gesture, could any carpet dealers replace them?
The public should also use proper containers for cigarette butts, not the sidewalk. Let’s all take pride in this building! BEVERLY PIZZUTO
