To the editor of THE EAGLE:

The Dalton Lions Cub 21st circus fundraiser was a success. The children’s and families program raised a record of $6,300. A total of 472 children and 330 adults from six area family service agencies were given tickets through the sponsorship of area businesses to enjoy this event, a record also.

What many people may not realize is that those of us who belong to the Lions Club view ourselves as a family, working together for common goals. The most obvious goals we share are our belief in family values and the concern for the well-being of our children -- our future.

The circus is a natural extension of those common goals and beliefs. We take pride in the Lions Circus because it is good and wholesome family entertainment in a safe environment. We take pride in the Lions Circus because it gives us the opportunity to publicity connect with those who attend this event and to remind them of our presence in the community. We take pride in the fact that 100 percent of the money raised at our circus goes to support our sight, hearing and community programs.

Our image in the community and in our daily lives means so much to us and being able to bring this event every year is one of the ways we maintain that positive image. Your support enables us to do all of the good and important work that we do to help those with sight and hearing problems.
