Resettling refugees is a better solution

To the editor:

I hope President Obama and any other politicians, Republican or Democrat, who want to accept Syrian refuges will take heed has to what happen in Paris.

I believe a more caring and humanitarian solution is to take the money we and other countries will have to spend to feed, house and care for the refugees, who will be in countries where the climate is different from what they are used to, with a language many do not know, with vastly different customs, and different food, and use that money to establish safe resettlement locations in Syria.

Why have the six Gulf states — Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar — offered zero resettlement locations to Syrian refugees? Do they know something we do not? Do they feel by accepting refugees without the ability to properly vet them is like letting the fox into the chicken coop?

Perhaps they would be willing to contribute money for safe resettlement locations in Syria.
