Islam desperately needs a Reformation
To the editor:
An Eagle editorial of Jan 15 headlined "Reaching across religious barriers," correctly states that we, the American people, wrongfully "scapegoat" all Muslims on the issue of Islamic terror killings. Islam is not just a religion. Sharia law fully controls their political life as well. That is why Iran is fully named the Islamic State of Iran.
Mass murders by Islamic terrorists both before and after 9/11/2001 have been committed by Jihadists, in the name of Allah, as their way to enter Paradise via martyrdom. The current leader of Egypt, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, has bravely spoken to the Arab Muslim world about the need of reform of Islam. He alludes to Jihad (holy war) against infidels (non-Muslims) being stricken from the Koran.
The Catholic Church, soon after the Inquistion, after 1492, went through a reformation that eliminated burning alive non-Catholics who refused to convert.
In these modern times Islam is need of Reformation. This can only be done by Muslims themselves.
