BENNINGTON, Vt. -- Oldcastle Theatre Company's 2013 season -- the first in its new home at 331 Main St. -- continues Friday with the opening of "A Strange Disappearance of Bees" by Elena Hartwell.
The production is scheduled to run through June 2 with performances Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 and Thursday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons at 2.
"A Strange Disappearance of Bees" tells the story of an Amer-Asian man looking for his Vietnam veteran father and centers on five people searching for home, love and true family,
The cast include Michael D. Nichols, Melissa Hurst, Jenny Strassburg, Loren Dunn and Simon Yokoyama.
Nichols has appeared previously at Oldcastle in "Sweet Talk" and "An American Revolution." In addition to Broadway, he has appeared at Centerstage in Baltimore, Kansas City Repertory Theatre, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Alley Theatre, and Barrington Stage Company.
Hurst has appeared in "Picnic," "I'm Not Rappaport," "On Golden Pond" and "Our Town" at Oldcastle. Regional theater credits include Hartford Stage, Pittsburgh Public, and 20 productions with Dorset Theatre Festival.
Strassburg is returning to Oldcastle where she appeared in "Third" and "One, Two, Three." Previous credits include Pioneer Theatre Co., The Mint Theatre, and Dorset Theatre Festival.
Dunn played the leading role in Wendy Wasserstein's "Third" at Oldcastle.
Yokoyama is making his Oldcastle debut with this production.
