PITTSFIELD - For the second year in a row, Berkshire District Attorney David F. Capeless has won a Cassie Award, given annually to community members who contribute to quality programming at Pittsfield Community Television.

Capeless and his staff won for "Take 15," which was about safety issues such as "sexting," identity theft, bullying and underage drinking; and for "Youth Advisory Board Program Discussion" on the dangers of drinking and peer pressure from the teen perspective.

Other Cassie Award winners were the Pittsfield Office of Cultural Development and its director, Megan Whilden, for producing " Cultural Pittsfield TV," which showcases cultural happenings in and around Pittsfield; Manny Olimpo for high school sports programming; and " The Veterans Forum," a Robert Stevens- produced show dedicated to the memories and events of local veterans.

The awards were announced by PCTV Executive Director Bernard Avalle at the organization's annual meeting, at which board members John Krol, Peter Marchetti and Reinaldo Roman were re-elected to three-year terms.

Whilden and Keith Babuszczak, assistant superintendent for career/vocational technical education at the Pittsfield Public Schools, were newly elected to three-year terms.
