PITTSFIELD -- A Pitts field man was transported to Berkshire Medical Center on Tuesday after being knocked from his motorized wheelchair in a crosswalk near Clapp Park.
Jefferey Harman, 53, a resident at Soldier On, was struck by a sedan driven by Alexander Kazura, 53, of Pittsfield, at the intersection of West Housatonic Street and Hawthorne Avenue around 5 p.m., Pittsfield Police said.
The vehicle was moving about 5 mph at the time of the impact, according to police, as Kazura was apparently trying to make a left turn onto West Housatonic Street.
Harman’s injuries were not considered life threatening, police said. His condition wasn’t available as of press time.
The accident remains under investigation.
