GREAT BARRINGTON -- A Connecticut man is being held on $15,000 cash bail or $150,000 bond after denying charges he was dealing heroin from a local residence, allegedly with consent from a mother of two young children.
Michael Crump, 35, of Winsted, Conn., along with Tina Haddock, 32, of Great Barrington were arraigned Thursday in Southern Berk shire District Court for possession of heroin with intent to distribute and conspiring to violate state drug laws.
Haddock faces an additional charge of possessing heroin.
Following the suspects’ not guilty pleas, Judge Paul Vrabel sent Crump to the Berkshire County Jail and House of Correction pending an Aug. 30 court date. Vrabel released Haddock on her own behalf until her next court appearance, Sept. 10.
Crump and Haddock were arrested Wednesday evening at the Christian Hill Com mons as local police and the Berkshire County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant of Haddock’s apartment at the housing complex on Christian Hill Road.
The arresting officers allegedly found 25 to 28 bags of heroin, $324 in cash and drug paraphernalia, according to Great Barrington police. Sgt. William Bartini said Haddock’s two children, ages 3 and 5, also living at the apartment, were placed in the care of the state Department of Children and Families.
