The 17th annual Festival Latino of the Berkshires will take place Saturday, Sept. 22, from 4 to 8 p.m. at First Congregational Church Park, 25 Park Place, rain or shine.

The festival highlights Latin American folkloric dance companies, a variety Latin American cuisine, and crafts to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month 2012. The festival is free of charge, alcohol-free, and open to the public.

Spanish language students from Berkshire County high schools will receive extra credit for attending the Festival as part of their educational experience.

After 9:30 p.m., the Festival will continue with a fundraiser party at Bogies, 935 South Main St., Great Barrington, featuring a live Latin band and DJ Mickey. The cover charge is $20; ID is required (18 to dance accompanied by a parent.)
