The Old Masters in New Frames film series at the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute continues at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4, with a free screening of Lech Majewski’s "The Mill & the Cross."

The film offers an opportunity to enter the world of a Pieter Bruegel painting, with the artist himself (played by Rutger Hauer) as guide. Independent scholar Keith Moxey will provide context and commentary on the film.

The series pairs feature films about famous artists with curators and educators who will offer an introduction and/or lead a post-film discussion, thus putting a new frame around the subject.

Admission is free.

Future films include "Caravaggio" on Oct. 18, "Edvard Munch" on Nov. 1, and "Lust for Life" on Nov. 15.

The Clark is located at 225 South St. Information: (413) 458-2303 or clarkart.edu.
