Wednesday, Oct. 17, is the last day to register to vote and to change your name or address in order to be eligible to vote in the Nov. 6 election.
In Pittsfield, the Registrar of Voters’ Office, located in City Hall, is open until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 17, to accommodate anyone wishing to register or to make changes to their voter status.
Elsewhere in the county, city and town halls will also be open until 8 p.m. for voter registration.
Absentee ballots are now available. A person is eligible to vote by absentee ballot if they are a registered voter and will be unable to vote at the polls on Election Day because they’ll be out of town, they can’t vote in person because of a physical disability, or a religious belief. The deadline to accept absentee ballot applications is noon on Monday, Nov. 5. Absentee ballots must be received by 8 p.m. on Election Day.
