The Girl Scouts and Berkshire Natural Resources Council will sponsor a "Halloween Hike" nature walk at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, on the trails behind Berkshire South Regional Community Center on Crissey Road, off Route 7.
Amanda L’Etoile, BNRC’s trails and outreach coordinator, will lead a guided walk that will offer participants a chance to make plaster casts of animal tracks found and learn to build temporary shelters in a gently spooky twilight atmosphere.
The walk is approximately one hour. Participants should wear sturdy shoes and warm clothing and bring water. Heavy rain cancels.
The event is free and the public is welcome.
Registered Girl Scouts who attend will receive a free hiking fun patch and Halloween goody bag while supplies last. Non-Scouts who register for the 2012-13 year at the event also will receive a free patch.
