The Department of Conservation & Recreation’s Visitors Museum at Western Gateway Heritage State Park will offer "Cahokia: The Mound Builders" at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24, as part of Native American Heritage Month.
Cahokia was the largest and most influential Native American urban settlement which developed advanced societies across much of what is now the Southeastern United States, beginning more than 500 years before European contact.
Western Gateway Heritage State Park is located south of the Hadley Overpass on Route 8. The Visitors Museum is in building 4. Information: (413) 663-6312.
