The Pittsfield Department of Community Development is sponsoring two Public Input Sessions this year as part of the preparation of its 2014 Consolidated Annual Action Plan.
The purpose of the Public Input Sessions is to obtain public comments and suggestions on how the City’s federal Community Development Block Grant funds should be used to improve the quality of life in the community.
Information gathered from these public input sessions will be used during the preparation of the City’s Consolidated Annual Action Plan.
The first public input session will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 11, at Morningside Community School, Community Room, 100 Burbank St.
The second public input session will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 25, at Conte Community School, Community Room, 200 West Union St.
The public is also encouraged to attend the Neighborhood Initiative Steering Committee meetings that will be held immediately following each of the public input sessions.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development requires that the City prepare a Consolidated Annual Action Plan each year. Funded projects included in the Annual Action Plan are required to benefit low and moderate-income people or eliminate slums and blight.
Everyone who attends this public input session will be given the opportunity to speak on what community issues are important to them, such as: housing; public facilities;
The Consolidated Annual Action Plan will be available in draft form in mid April for the public to review and comment.
Residents unable to attend the Public Input Sessions may submit their comments, written or orally, to the Pittsfield Department of Community Development, City Hall, 70 Allen St., Room 205, Pittsfield, MA 01201, or at (413) 499-9368 or by TTY at (413) 499-9340.
