The Central Berkshire Regional School District has announced its kindergarten registration dates for the 2013-14 school year.

School district policy states that a child must reach the age of 5 on or before Sept. 1 in order to be eligible for kindergarten beginning September 2013.

Parents of eligible children should have received in the mail information pertaining to kindergarten registration. If they have not received this information, a call should be made to the school where the child will attend class. It is necessary for the parent to provide a copy of the child’s birth certificate on the day of registration.

State law requires that all children have complete immunization before entering kindergarten. The immunization information -- month and year of the immunization -- must be recorded on the form by the child’s physician.

Kindergarten classes have been established in the following schools and communities:

Becket Washington School for children from Becket and Washington; Berkshire Trail Elementary School for children from Cummington and Windsor; Craneville School for all children residing in Dalton; and Kittredge School for children from Hinsdale and Peru.

Kindergarten registration, hearing and vision screening will be conducted for the above schools as follows:

Becket Washington School on Thursday and Friday, March 14 and 15; Berkshire Trail Elementary School on Tuesday and Thursday, March 5 and 7; Craneville School from Monday through Friday, March 4 to 8; and Kittredge School on Thursday and Friday, March 7 and 8.
