Epoch Assisted Living at 140 Melbourne Road will welcome René Laubach of the Massachusetts Audubon Society for the presentation, "Backyard Birds of the Berkshires," at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20.

Laubach has been the director of the Berkshire Wildlife Sanctuaries since 1985. He’s an expert on birds, bats and butterflies and has been a licensed bird bander since 1980.

He has written six books on natural history, including "The Backyard Birdhouse Book," which he co-authored with his wife, Christyna.
