Pittsfield Public Schools are offering free developmental screenings for all 3 and 4-year-old children who will not be entering kindergarten in September.
Screenings will be held as follows:
Monday, March 25 -- Conte Community School, 200 West Union St., from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Wednesday, March 27 -- Morningside Community School, 100 Burbank St., from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Thursday, April 4 -- Berkshire County Head Start, 1 Meadow Lane, from 9 a.m. to noon.
The purpose of the screenings is to identify children who may be functioning at a level below their chronological age in the areas of speech/language, cognition, social/emotional development, or physical development.
Evaluators will meet with the parent/guardian immediately following the screening to discuss the results.
