Project Sprout’s sixth annual fundraiser, the "Project Sprout Cookout" will be held from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 26, at Route 7 Grill.

The cookout, formerly known as the pig roast, is a community lunch prepared by student volunteers and Route 7 staff featuring ingredients donated or supplied by local farmers and merchants.

Proceeds from the event go to support the efforts of Monument Mountain students to grow fresh produce for the cafeterias of their district in the on-campus vegetable garden.

This year’s cookout features a diversified menu, including grilled chicken and vegetables in addition to roasted pork, Route 7’s macaroni and cheese, beets, green salad, rhubarb crisp, and SoCo ice cream.

Advance tickets are $15 for students and faculty of the Berkshire Hills Regional School District, as well as families of four or more, and $25 for the general public.

Tickets bought at the door are $5 more expensive, with the discount for students and families still in effect. Tickets can be purchased at Route 7 Grill or The Bookloft any time before the event, or outside of The Berkshire Co-op Market and Guido’s Fresh Marketplace on weekends.
