The Lenox Library’s 18th annual book sale will be held Friday through Sunday, Aug. 23 to 25, at library, 18 Main St. This year’s "Bargains in Books" event will feature a huge collection of books in 37 categories, all gathered from Berkshire homes.
The grand opening will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 23, with a requested donation of $5 until 2 p.m. and free admission thereafter. The sale continues from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday when admission is free all day.
Categories include fiction, children’s books, specialized cookbooks, biography, bird books, art books, poetry, The Berkshires, military history, computers and science, how-to and hobbies, graphic novels, CDs, DVDs, sheet music, and more. The "special interest" category includes first editions, fine bindings, old and rare volumes, and sets.
Prices start at 50 cents for small paperbacks, and at $1.50 for large paperbacks and hardcovers.
Thanks to a donation by Denise Brunkus, a children’s book illustrator and friend of The Lenox Library, the first 50 children each day of the three-day sale, who have already bought a children’s book that day, may choose one of her new illustrated children’s books, as long as supplies last.
All proceeds from the book sale benefit the library’s educational programs and activities offered to the public year-round free of charge.
