The fourth annual Doris and Don Shaffer Memorial Lecture Series promoting peace and justice in Israel and Palestine will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 27, at the Berkshire Museum, 39 South St.
This year’s event will screen the Peabody award-winning Just Vision documentary, "My Neighbourhood." A forum will follow to further discuss the impact of Israeli settlement expansion in East Jerusalem and the West Bank.
The forums speakers include Rebecca Vilkomerson of Jewish Voice for Peace; Moriel Rothman, Israeli activist and writer; and moderator Victor Navasky, publisher emeritus of The Nation Magazine.
A wine and hors d’oeuvre reception will follow with the speakers and moderator in attendance.
The film follows Mohammed, a Palestinian teenager whose family is forced to share a section of their East Jerusalem home with Israeli settlers.
