The new St. Nicholas Orthodox Church at 1304 North St. will hold its first Ethnic Festival from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7. Admission is free.
The festival will offer food and pastries including baklava, ethnic music and dancing, activities for kids, crafts, a raffle, a demonstration of Byzantine iconography, and a tour of the church with opportunities to learn about Christian Orthodoxy.
Festival-goers should park along both sides of North Street because the church grounds are reserved for the fair.
This will be St. Nicholas’ first festival since moving in 2011 from its old quarters with the blue dome on Wahconah Street where it had operated since 1916.
