The main entrance to Berkshire Medical Center and the main driveway on North Street will be closed temporarily on Sunday, Sept. 8, to accommodate roof construction work.
The construction work near the entrance utilizing a large crane will result in the closing of the main entrance, but all patients, visitors and staff will continue to have access through a nearby entrance.
With the closure of the North Street driveway, visitors are asked to use the entrance on Charles Street to access the Medical Center and the parking garage.
The work will in no way impact on patient care or postpone or delay any scheduled procedures, and access to the Emergency Department will remain unhindered. In addition, visitation and visiting hours will be unaffected, and the visitor parking garage will continue to be accessible.
Traffic cones will block off the area of the main entrance and driveway during the construction work and the area will be staffed by traffic controllers to help motorists.
