of Berkshire County

Elder Services offers many resources and services for Berkshire seniors, including Meals on Wheels and senior group lunches, information & referral, case management, homemaker, personal care, grocery shopping, companionship, laundry service, money management, supportive housing, health insurance counseling (SHINE), caregiver services, Long Term Care Ombudsman program, Healthy Aging programs, and a Senior Training and Employment Program. Lunches prepared by Elder Services are served at Councils on Aging and Senior Centers in the following communities: Adams, Becket, Cheshire, Dalton, Great Barrington, Hinsdale, Lanesborough, Lee, Lenox, North Adams, Pittsfield, Stockbridge and Williamstown. There is a suggested donation of $2 per meal.

Becket

Congregate meals are served Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11 a.m. at Town Hall. Bingo will follow the meals. There is a suggested donation of $2. For reservations, call Sonny at (413) 623-8934, ext. 27, on Tuesday or Thursday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

A blood pressure clinic is offered on the third Tuesday of each month. Brown Bag is offered on the third Friday, and a pot luck is offered on the fourth Friday of each month.

Cheshire

The Council on Aging van is available on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call Ed at (413) 446-2559 for reservations. Call Elsie at (413) 743-9612 for foot clinic appointments. Dalton

Nutritious meals for persons 60 and older are served at the Senior Center on Mondays and Thursdays. Reservations for lunch must be in by noon of the business day before by calling (413) 684-2000. A donation of $2 is requested.

The Café will be open from 8 to 10 a.m. Monday through Friday. The building is equipped with WiFi.

The COA office at 40 Field St. Ext. (corner of Field and High streets) is open Monday through Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. BRTA tickets may be purchased regular office hours. The calendar of events is available on the town website, www.dalton-ma.gov.

The COA van is available for all Dalton elderly and handicapped residents from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Reservations must be made at least 24 business hours in advance by calling the COA at (413) 684-2000.

Otis

The Council on Aging has drop-in hours from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday. The van is available every Thursday to pick up seniors and take them to the Great Barrington Senior Center for a nutritious meal, shopping, doctor appointments and errands. Pittsfield

The Senior Center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the kitchen is open for breakfast from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Center no longer sells taxi or yellow cabulance tickets. The 2013 parking stickers are available for $4.

Lunch is offered daily at 11:30 a.m. for a $2 donation. Order meals 24 hours in advance at (800) 981-5201 or 499-9346.

Thursday: 9 a.m. -- Walkers; 9:30 a.m. -- Tai Chi; 11:30 a.m. -- Lunch; 1 p.m. -- Linus; 5 p.m. -- Weight Watchers.

Friday: 10:30 a.m. -- Exercise; 11:30 a.m. -- Lunch; 1 p.m. -- Bingo; Brown Bag day.
