Hopkins Forest will host its annual Fall Festival from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, within the Forest, located at the junction of Northwest Hill Road and Bulkley Street. The event is free, family-friendly, and open to everyone.
This event features traditional wood working demonstrations, music, apple butter and cider production, refreshments, a canopy walkway and children’s activities. There will also be hands-on activities including shake-splitting and a cross-cut saw competition.
The Forest has an array of hiking and cross-country ski trails, along with a visitor center, an herb garden, and a maple sugaring operation.
At this year’s festival, visitors will be able to take home a small piece of the forest as locally nursed, native tree seedlings will be on sale.
