The Adams Council on Aging will launch the Feel Good Bingo program with senior adults to generate conversation about the signs and symptoms of depression.
Feel Good Bingo, created by the non-profit Screening for Mental Health, aims to engage older adults in the prevention and early detection of depression while building mental health resiliency.
Similar in structure to traditional bingo, the program will provide an opportunity to discuss the symptoms of depression, encourage participants to seek help and teach older adults how to build resiliency.
Instead of letters and numbers, each player’s game card contains various icons depicting common symptoms of depression. Each Feel Good Bingo kit includes materials to host a game, as well as mental health educational materials and depression screening forms.
Those interested in attending the Feel Good Bingo event, should register to attend at (413) 743-8333. Gift card prizes will be given as winnings and refreshments provided.
