Political economist Gar Alperovitz will give a talk titled "The Next America: The Emerging New Direction as the Old Order Decays" at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, at the John Dewey Academy at Searles Castle, 389 Main St.
Alperovitz is the Lionel R. Bauman professor of political economy at the University of Maryland and a founding principal of the University of Maryland-based Democracy Collaborative. His new book is titled "What Then Must We Do: Straight Talk about the Next American Revolution."
The talk will be followed by questions from the audience and a book signing. Tickets are $5 or five BerkShares.
