The Pittsfield Boys & Girls Club Booster Club will host its first Hoop Mania event on Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Pittsfield Boys and Girls Club on Melville Street.
The event will include a fun-filled day of basketball development for all Berkshire County students in grades 3 to 8 organized by former St. Joseph Coach Paul Brindle.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., there will be skill development challenges, Pepsi Hot Shot and free throw contests, as well as other relay activities. A $10 wristband will be on sale at 10 a.m. for this part of the day. Prizes will be awarded at 2 p.m.
The 3v3 basketball tournament will run from 3 to 6 p.m. Teams of three players must register at the Boys and Girls Club in advance in order to play. Grade divisions are 3/4, 5/6 and 7/8. The cost per team is $9. Prizes will be awarded. All players must arrive prior to 3 p.m. for the tournament.
Michael’s Crafts will set up craft tables in the Lighthouse for kids all day, at no charge. The concession stand will be open all day as well.
