The Adams Council on Aging will offer the "Step It Up" Fall Prevention Program at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, at the Council on Aging at the Visitors Center.
This program is primarily for seniors who might have had a fall, are afraid of falling or want to know if they are at risk for a fall. It is also for families of seniors who might be worried that their loved one is at risk for a fall.
Physical and occupational therapists from the VNA and Hospice of Northern Berkshire and North Adams Regional Hospital will provide this free educational program and a personal falls risk assessment for all participants.
The Home Instead Senior Care team will be available to discuss home safety for seniors. A home safety checklist and other valuable information will be provided for all participants. Door prizes and free brunch will be available.
Registration is recommended by calling the COA at (413) 743-8333.
