The inaugural year of the Downtown Pittsfield Farmers Market ends with a festive party this Saturday, Oct. 26, in the First Street parking lot across from the Common.
Following the last market of the season, the market will host a pig roast party in partnership with Relish restaurant featuring a smorgasbord of local foods for every taste, a beer and wine garden, live music by market favorites Billy Keane, Nico Wohl, Sam ‘n Andi, and Eamonn Barry, and a free bounce house and other activities for kids.
Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 the day of the event, and $5 for children under 12 years old. Advance tickets may be purchased at Dottie’s Coffee Lounge, 444 North St.; Relish Restaurant, 117 Fenn St., or online at farmersmarketpittsfield.org.
Proceeds from ticket sales will go to support the 2014 Downtown Pittsfield Farmers Market.
The Downtown Pittsfield Farmers Market has just been certified to begin accepting USDA’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, formerly known as the Food Stamp Program. In 2014, the farmers market will be able to accept SNAP benefits all season long.
