A pie potluck event will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at the Williamstown Rural Land Foundation’s Sheep Hill headquarters. Bakers of all ages are encouraged to bring a pie to share. Attendees will vote to determine which pie will win the coveted People’s Choice award.
Pie bakers are encouraged to use as many ingredients as possible from local farms and markets. Both sweet and savory pies are welcomed.
Michael Menard, the lead baker at Williams Dining, will demonstrate how to make a successful pie crust and answer general baking questions, as well as oversee the awarding of the People’s Choice award.
Weather permitting, candles will be set afloat on the pond and Deb Burns will lead singing in celebration of autumn.
The pie potluck is a cooperative event with the Williams College Sustainable Food and Agriculture Program as a part of Food Week, a week-long mix of lectures and other programming promoting food sustainability.
The event is open to the public. Donations are welcome. Information: WRLF at (413) 458-2494 or www.wrlf.org.
