The Berkshire Coalition for Suicide Prevention will sponsor a public forum titled "Teenage Anxiety and Depression Solutions" from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, at the Berkshire Museum’s Little Cinema space, 39 South St.
Parents and other caregivers of teens are welcome, and light refreshments will be served.
The free event will combine helpful video segments focused on removing obstacles to treatment with a question and answer period with providers of local services for teens.
The program is designed to provide a basic understanding of the behavioral health issues of teens, and to offer practical guidance for seeking mental health services.
The program was designed by Steve and Deb Boczenowski of Groton following the loss of their son Jeffrey to suicide in 2009. Steve Boczenowski will be present at the event.
Partners in bringing the program to the Berkshires are the Berkshire Coalition for Suicide Prevention, the Youth Suicide Prevention Project and the National Alliance on Mental Illness in Berkshire County.
