The 10th anniversary of Arborists Day will be celebrated Wednesday, Nov. 6, at the Berkshire Botanical Garden.
Each year, arborists and tree specialists from the central and southern Berkshires gather for a day of community service, education and recreation. The public is invited to attend and observe at no charge from 8 a.m. to noon.
First started by the Berkshire Botanical Garden 10 years ago, Arborists Day has turned into a meaningful tradition for local non-profits. Each year, these professionals gather at a chosen area institution to do tree work, at no cost.
To mark the 10 year anniversary of the event, the arborists return back to where it all began: the Berkshire Botanical Garden.
Dan Tilton, safety director for Tilton Equipment Company in Rye, N.H., will teach a class on chainsaw safety. The class will help the attending specialists to fulfill their necessary continuing education requirements. A potluck lunch will be provided by the BBG staff.
Over 25 participants are expected to attend.
