NORTH ADAMS -- Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts President Mary K. Grant, along with the college's faculty and staff, will honor Berkshire County recipients of the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship at a reception to celebrate their achievement at 6 tonight, Dec. 2, in the Feigenbaum Center for Science and Innovation atrium.
The program will include recognition of the award recipients, as well as a financial aid and admissions workshop.
The John and Abigail Adams Scholarship provides a tuition waiver for their undergraduate education at a Massachusetts state college or university, including MCLA.
To qualify for the scholarship, high school students must have scores of "Advanced" and "Proficient" on grade 10 Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System tests in English Language Arts and mathematics, with at least one "Advanced" score, and combined scores on MCAS ELA and mathematics tests that place them in the top 25 percent of students in the graduating class in their district.
