The Women’s Club of the Berkshires Fund, a fund of Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation, has awarded $6,500 in grants to four nonprofit groups.
The Women’s Club of the Berkshires Fund awards grants to foster and improve the welfare of all women in Berkshire County.
The following grants were awarded:
n Berkshire Center for Families & Children: $1,500 for childcare subsidies for single women.
n Elizabeth Freeman Center: $2,000 for emergency assistance for women and their children in our community who are most at risk of imminent harm or death from domestic and sexual violence.
n Gladys Brigham Center: $1,500 to support Women In Crisis Child Care Subsidy Program, which will provide short-term childcare for women in crisis.
n Multicultural Bridge: $1,500 to support the Women to Women Project, which aims to empower and help to professionally develop immigrant women and women of color.
April 1 is the application deadline for the Women’s Club of the Berkshires Scholarship Fund, which awards scholarships to female students who are residents of Berkshire County.
Preference is given to applicants who demonstrate a commitment to pursue a career that will benefit girls and women in Berkshire County.
