Dalton Free Public Library will offer an introduction to Universal Classes from Recorded Books at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8.

The morning session will be hands on, but the evening session will be projected on the big screen so that other library patrons will have access to the library’s six public computers.

The free sessions run about 30 minutes. Pre-registration is not required but it is recommended that participants bring their library card to enroll in classes.

Universal Class offers 500 courses in a wide range of subjects. Studies are self-paced and can qualify students for Continuing Education Units.

Class offerings include Excel 2010, Digital Photography, Abnormal Psychology, and Early Childhood Development, among others.

The database is provided with support from the Katharine L.W. and Winthrop Murray Crane Foundation.
