ADAMS - Presentation of the Webelos award, the highest recognition in Cub Scouting, to Glen Ruebesam of 17 Highland Ave. was the feature of a monthly meeting of Cub Scout Pack 3, sponsored by the Liberty Street Parent-Teacher Group Tuesday night in Liberty Street School auditorium. Ruebesam is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert M. Ruebesam, who were present for the special recognition ceremony.

WILLIAMSTOWN - The Mt. Greylock Regional basketball team has been invited to the University of Massachusetts tournament. Squad members are: Kim Chapman, Don Fyfe, Jim Wagner, Al Senay, Doug Jacobs, Dave Lefave, Ray McMannus, Greg Noonan, Co-Capt. Doug Shepard, Co-Capt. Jon Peters, Craig Macomber and John Noonan. Dave Damon is coach assisted by Roy Spofford. Chris Debussy is manager.

CLARKSBURG - Marinade Bona, a grade seven student at the Clarksburg Elementary School, won the school- level competition of the National Geographic Bee on Jan. 15 and a chance at $25,000 scholarship. School winners, including Bona, will now take a written test. Up to 100 of the top scorers in each state will be eligible to compete in their state bee on April 2.

READSBORO - For the second straight year, eight grader Drew Boudreau, son of Tom and Jo-Anne Boudreau of Tunnel Street, won the school level competition of the 2004 National Geography Bee at the Readsboro Central School on Jan. 12. He beat fifth grader Kathleen Massari in the finals.

The other classroom winners who qualified for the finals were Ronald Smith Jr., Jonathan Deblois, Willy Zboray, Samantha Arnold, Vinni Fermenella, Ronin Magnussen, Kyle White and Arthur Zander.
