Williams College will present a screening of a work-in-progress documentary about Gertrude Bell titled "Letters from Baghdad" at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, at Paresky Auditorium.

A discussion with the film’s directors, Zeva Oelbaum and Sabine Krayenbühl, will follow the screening. The event is free and open to the public.

Bell was a British adventurer and diplomat who worked in the Middle East and helped create the modern state of Iraq. Oelbaum and Krayenbühl will discuss their approach to the documentary about Bell and her role in the context of history, culture, and film.
