The Adams-Cheshire Regional School District will be conducting a developmental preschool screening for all Adams and Cheshire 3 and 4-year-olds on Wednesday and Thursday, March 12 and 13, at Cheshire Elementary School.
The purpose of the screening is to identify children who may have substantive needs in speech/language, cognitive/thinking, emotional/social or physical development.
Support services are delivered to students in a side by side program with their typical peers.
Students with special needs qualify for the program on their 3rd birthday. Students without special needs who reach their 4th birthday on or before Sept. 1, 2014, may qualify for the program. Typical candidates will be selected by a lottery system.
Appointments can be made by calling the Special Services Office at (413) 743-5202, ext. 1107, weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. by Monday, March 10.
The screening requires parents to bring their child and his/her birth certificate to the school.
