Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts will recognize and celebrate the efforts of its student volunteers who have provided service to the community over the past academic year through the College’s Center for Service and Citizenship at 4 p.m. Friday, May 2, in the MCLA Church Street Center’s Social Hall.

The event is free and open to the public.

Throughout the 2013-14 academic year, 15 student coordinators led 114 student volunteers who helped six community partners with 12 different programs during a total of approximately 2,250 hours of service, which benefited about 750 local youth.

The community partners include the Adams Youth Center, Berkshire Arts and Technology (BArT) Charter School, Berkshire Food Project, North Adams Public Schools, the North Adams YMCA and the Northern Berkshire Community Coalition.
