The Drury High School sociology classes will present the annual prom for senior citizens from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, in the high school gymnasium. The theme is "Safari for the Seniors."
For the past 20 years, the sociology classes have studied generational differences, sociological impact and ways to help bridge the generational divide. Their research and curriculum culminates with the planning and implementation of the prom as a service learning project.
A light dinner fare is provided, students make baked goods, a disc jockey provides musical entertainment, and students and the seniors mingle and dance. The evening concludes with the selection of a King/Queen and Court.
