PITTSFIELD — Two juveniles are facing charges in connection with Friday's stabbing at the Pittsfield skate park, which prompted Pittsfield High School to shelter in place.
Police described the stab wound as "minor" and caused by a knife of some sort. The victim was treated at Berkshire Medical Center.
The fight, which police believe involved about five male juveniles, was reported about noon Friday, according to Pittsfield Police. All involved were under 18, though it's not clear if they were all PHS students.
Some of the youths involved in the fight went into the PHS building afterward, prompting the shelter in place for about 35 minutes. The skate park is adjacent to the school on East Street.
The shelter in place was called to help police and school staff determine the building was safe and any suspects be removed, according to police.
The suspects, aged 15 and 16, were arrested later on a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, police said. Neither were located in the school.
