PITTSFIELD — The woman Pittsfield Police say is responsible for the recent robbery of Zuke's Soups was ordered held on $500 bail Wednesday.

Ivy Rogers, 30, whose address is listed as unknown in Pittsfield, was arrested following a police interview Tuesday.

Police said Rogers had become a person of interest in their investigation of the robbery and allegedly confessed during her interview.

According to a probable cause statement included in court files, Rogers entered Zuke's around 5 p.m. Dec. 10 and asked for money from the register.

The clerk attempted to give Rogers the money from the lottery till, but Rogers demanded cash from the shop's register instead and asked for denominations of only $10 and $20.

She fled the store with $490 in cash, according to police.

Assistant District Attorney Dana Parsons asked Judge William Rota to consider a bail of $2,500, arguing that Rogers has no fixed address and has an open case in Chicopee District Court on charges of larceny and assault and battery.

Parsons said the state was also concerned this latest incident is a sign of escalating violent behavior on Roger's part.

In arguing for lower bail, Roger's attorney, Shannon Plumb, said there is nothing in Roger's record to indicate she is any type of flight risk.

Rogers pleaded not guilty in Central Berkshire District Court on Wednesday to a charge of larceny from a person in connection with the robbery.

She is due back in court on January 14 for a pre-trial hearing.

The robbery of Zuke's was one of a string of recent incidents still under investigation by city police.
