PITTSFIELD — The Dewey Avenue man police say opened fire on a woman in her Harold Street driveway was ordered held on $5,000 bail Tuesday.

Charles Moore, 31, pleaded not guilty in Berkshire Superior Court to charges of armed assault with intent to murder, illegal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of a loaded firearm, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building before Judge Daniel Ford.

Moore is alleged to have shot toward a city woman in broad daylight about 1:50 p.m. on Sept. 22.

Moore turned himself in to authorities on Oct. 14 after a warrant had been issued for his arrest.

No one was injured in the shooting but a car parked in the driveway was struck and a shell casing and spent bullets were recovered from the scene.

Moore is due back in court on June 13 for a pre-trial hearing.

The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department.
