PITTSFIELD — The Greylock Federal Credit Union branch on Route 7 was robbed at knifepoint on Wednesday, according to Greylock CEO John Bissell.

About 5:55 p.m., a suspect displayed a knife and demanded money, Bissell said in a prepared release. He declined to say how much was stolen.

No one was injured in the robbery.

Several police cars were seen at the branch, which is across from Pontoosuc Lake near the Lanesborough border.

"In these types of unfortunate circumstances, our No. 1 concern is for the safety of our employees and our members," Bissell said in the release. "We are pleased that all employees reacted in exactly the way they are trained to do. We appreciate the prompt response of state and local law enforcement and we are cooperating fully with the investigation being conducted by the Pittsfield Police Department."

He said further information would be released by the police.

The branch will be closed on Thursday and will reopen Monday.
