NORTH ADAMS — A city man is being held without bail for allegedly stabbing a someone outside the Key West Lounge early Saturday.
Jesse Camacho, Jr., 23, of Willow Dell, stabbed Donald Tatro during a large fight outside of Key West at about 1 a.m. Saturday, according to a police report filed by North Adams Police Sgt. Toby Randall.
When police arrived to the scene, some 20 to 30 people remained outside and outdoor furniture was covered in a large amount of blood, the report said.
Tatro was found with a wound near his chest and "appeared very pale and fatigued," according to the report. It was later discovered that he suffered a punctured lung and lacerated lung from the stabbing.
Tatro was in stable condition at the time the report was written and was admitted to Berkshire Medical Center over the weekend. His condition was not known.
A bouncer at the bar told police Camacho and his girlfriend had been kicked out of the bar for being disruptive. Once outside, Camacho allegedly confronted Tatro and stabbed him during a struggle.
The Bouncer told officers that Camacho fled in a Saturn with Vermont plates toward Adams.
While Randall tended to the stabbing victim, two other officers found and arrested Camacho and discovered a knife and blood in the vehicle, the report states.
Camacho also was treated for a stab wound to the left leg, but he allegedly admitted to having stabbed himself while attempting to put the knife back into his pocket.
He pleaded not guilty in Northern Berkshire District Court to one count of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon that causes serious bodily injury.
Judge Paul Vrabel ordered him to appear in court on Friday for a dangerousness hearing.
