PITTSFIELD — The owner of Michael's Restaurant in Stockbridge was sentenced to probation after admitting he withheld evidence in a fatal drunken driving case.

Michael G. Abdalla Jr., 54, of Lee, was also ordered to donate $5,000 to a Berkshire County charity.

Michael's was the last place Kyle Bailey drank before getting behind the wheel and crashing his car, killing 21-year-old Garrett Norton on April 4, 2015, and seriously injuring another.

Abdalla admitted he failed to provide video evidence to police during their investigation into the fatal crash.

Abdalla pleaded guilty to one count of misleading a police officer Thursday in Berkshire Superior Court before Judge John Agostini.

Agostini continued the case without a finding for two years, during which time Abdalla must abide by whatever conditions the Probation Department imposes and make the $5,000 donation.

On March 9, Bailey, of Glendale, was sentenced to four years in jail after pleading guilty to motor vehicle homicide, operating under the influence and other charges in connection with the crash.
