LEE — A wind-blown tree crashed into a pickup truck causing a four-vehicle crash that injured three people along Laurel Lake Sunday afternoon.

Shortly before 3 p.m., a Dodge pickup was westbound on Route 20 near the Black Swan Inn, when gusty winds toppled a tree on the pickup and another headed south on Route 20, according to the Lee Police Department. The pickup's three occupants — including a child — where taken to Berkshire Medical Center with police saying the driver was the most seriously injured and the other two taken to BMC as a precaution. The driver's condition wasn't immediately known and the names of the crash victims weren't released. Police reported no other injuries, including those in the two other vehicles that struck the ones hit by the falling tree.

The tree also brought down utility lines, forcing police to briefly close that section of Route 20 until utility crews could repair the damage and rescue personnel could clear the scene.

The Lee Fire Department, Lenox and state police and Lenox ambulance squad assisted Lee police in responding to the crash scene.
